Bob Allen, burly former Republican Florida state representative, co-chairman of John McCain’s presidential campaign in Florida, and racist, anti-gay closet case who in mid-2007 offered an undercover cop a twenty (for the privilege of blowing the cop), and was convicted of solicitation in November, 2007, appealed his conviction back in May, on the grounds he didn’t get a fair trial — oh, yeah, and on the grounds that he “didn’t do it”: Allen may have offered the cop money, but he says it was to keep the big, scary black man from robbing him (see what we mean by “racist”?), and it was the cop who asked for sex. Uh, right.

After losing his county court appeal in July, 2008, Allen turned to the 5th Circuit, which also shot him down December 8, 2008, denying his appeal “without a hearing or comment.”

Next stop: The Florida Supreme Court… maybe.
