The Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix is a low-security facility for male inmates, spokeswoman Traci Billingsley said. The low-security rating is above minimum security but below medium security, Billingsley said. The prison is adjacent to a minimum-security camp, she said.
This is also a heads-up for folks living within a 500-mile radius of McKee’s new “home”:
FCI Fort Dix is in Burlington County on the Fort Dix/McGuire Air Force Base military installation, according to information available on the Bureau of Prisons Web site. The prison is about 40 miles from Philadelphia and 30 miles from the New Jersey shore.The Bureau of Prisons tries to place offenders in facilities within 500 miles of the residence they will live in upon release, Billingsley said.
