Moral apex: Accused of exposing himself in 2008 to a five-year-old girl from his church.

Charge: “Committing or attempting” a lewd act on a child younger than 16.

Did he do it? Wife says no way — he was never alone with the girl.

Did he do it? We’d put money on it. He’s got quite the arrest record, and has served time. According to his page at the South Carolina Sex Offenders Registry:

• Convicted 1982, committing or attempting a lewd act on a child younger than 16 (victim was 11 years old);

• Convicted 1984, third-degree criminal sexual conduct (victim was seven years old); served three years of a five-year sentence; released on probation 1987;

• Convicted 1996, indecent exposure (victim was 11 years old); “he was pastor of Branchville Baptist Church and … he resigned two weeks before two girls accused him of exposing himself when they came to his house to sell doughnuts” (Source); pled guilty; six-month sentence suspended; two years’ probation;

• Convicted 1996, committing or attempting a lewd act on a child younger than 16 (victim was 11 years old).

First question: Why has this repeat sex offender been allowed to walk free, again and again?

Second question: What kind of church hires a registered sex offender with a long record of child molestation?

Third question: What the hell is wrong with the South Carolina Lowcountry? Kosier was the first of no less than three ministers in the Lowcountry area arrested within a week of one another; numbers two and three were Ronald Jones and Kevin Jerome Powers — and these arrests came within a couple of weeks of the 30-year sentencing of convicted child molester Tyrone Moore of North Charleston. What gives?

Where he is now: Free on $35,000 bail, and still preaching at his church.
