Charged: Ralph Lee Aaron, 54, pastor, Grace Christian Fellowship, Andalusia, Alabama, with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, including first-degree sodomy, of a boy under 12, “the first of what is expected to be many other sex abuse charges.” Since Aaron’s arrest, Sheriff Dennis Meeks said “there are ‘multiple’ child victims in this ‘large-scale’ investigation.” Aaron is being held in the Covington County jail (accounts differ as to whether is being held with or without bond). Father John Owen, the priest who said earlier this year that gay men are the main perpetrators of paedophilia in the Catholic Church has resigned as a chaplain at Cardiff University.

Speaking on BBC1’s Big Questions programme in May, which focused on child abuse scandals in the church, the communications officer for the archdiocese of Cardiff stated that “most of the offences are being committed by homosexuals”. …

Sentenced: Randy Brock, 41, pastor, Liberty Baptist Church, Fircrest, Washington, to one year in jail, suspended, and a $300 fine, after pleading guilty to making repeated obscene phone calls to young female baristas at a coffee shop near his church. Brock, who would ask the women “sexually explicit questions” about their bras and panties, blamed his victims for wearing “revealing clothing” as the reason he made the calls. Brock refused to talk to a local news station, saying only that “he thought the case and guilty plea would never be made public.” Brock is married and the father of four young girls.
