Scott Myers • Robert Lee Adams Reaves
Jose Carlos Contreras Rodriguez • Andrew Spallek

Because we could spend 24/7 tracking the sex crimes of right-wing religionists (especially “youth pastors”) and never get caught up. Of the following, the more interesting cases will probably end up with their very own Conservative Babylon entries.

Allison BrantArrested: Allison Brant, 31, former Catholic school principal, St. Mary of the Woods Elementary, Whitesville, Kentucky, who resigned her job a week before being arrested at her home and charged with one count of third-degree rape and three counts of third-degree sodomy on a 15-year-old boy with whom she allegedly had an eight-week affair. According to an arrest affidavit, Brant “confessed to having sex with a teen-ager during last winter’s ice storm.” In a separate case, Brant also faces four misdemeanor charges of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor; i.e., supplying alcohol to four other males between the ages of 16 and 18. Brant is married. Story: 14WFIE.com; Evansville Courier & Press, October 7, 2009

William Neill DavisArrested: William Neill Davis, 55, youth minister and Sunday school teacher, Rosedale Community Evangelical Congregational Church, Rosedale, Maryland, on multiple charges of child sexual abuse and possession of child pornography after a cable installer “inadvertently found explicit content on his computer.” According to reports, Davis confessed to molesting a girl, who belonged to his church, and whom he babysat for a neighbor, over an eight-year period, from 1998 through 2006, beginning when the girl was five years old. Davis also reportedly confessed to “regularly watching kiddie porn.” Police are “concerned about the possibility of other victims because of Davis’ volunteer activities with children in the community and his church.” Predictably, church members and neighbors are “saddened and shocked.” Story: WBALTV.com; Baltimore Sun; WJZ.com; ABC2news.com, October 7, 2009

Bruce Lee GossConvicted: Bruce Lee Goss, 52, pastor, New Birth Temple Church of God in Christ, Shreveport, Louisiana, of child molestation. “Goss was arrested in December 2007 when Shreveport police responded to a report of a vehicle backed into the driveway of a vacant dwelling… Officers said they found Goss in the back seat with a partially clothed 13-year-old girl.” Sentencing is scheduled November 23, 2009. Story: Shreveport Times, October 8, 2009. Notes Mojoey: “Goss was in the news before. Back in the mid-90s. His church was burned down in a wave of arson attacks against black churches. It was a national epidemic at the time. The funny thing is… Goss had recently bought the property and then purchased a $40K insurance policy on it. A few days after buy insurance his derelict church was burnt to the ground by ‘racist’ arsonist. It made the national news. I’m thinking there may be another motive.”

Scott MyersArrested: Scott Myers, 27, former teaching assistant and substitute teacher, Freedom Intermediate School, Franklin Special School District, Tennessee, and Christian camp counselor, Barefoot Republic Camp, Nashville (operated by Spectrum Ministries, not Spectrum “Industries,” as reportedly erroneously elsewhere), and Boys and Girls Club mentor, charged with distributing more than 3,000 images of child pornography found on two laptop computers. Federal prosecutors also said Myers was “making his own child pornography at home.” In an added twist, Myers had recently been hired to homeschool the 13- and 14-year-old children of country music singer Wynonna Judd, who fired him upon learning of his arrest. Ironically, Judd filed for divorce from her second husband, D.R. Roach, (stepfather to her two teens, and father of a ten-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy from a previous marriage), in 2007 after he was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child under 13. Randolph, in a “jealous rage” after Randolph rebuffed his advances. Story: Conservative Babylon, October 5, 2009; Herald-Sun, October 10, 2009

Noted the church’s October 11-12, 2009, bulletin: “In a letter to the congregation, he expressed his great honor and joy in serving Salem for the past several years, and his great regret for tendering his resignation due to personal reasons.” Story: St. Louis Post-Dispatch, October 9, 2009
