Peter Jung-Joo Kim
Claims to fame: Former youth pastor, Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, Englewood, Colorado; former youth pastor, Central Presbyterian Church, Longmont, Colorado; husband; father of three; habitual child-sex offender and bond-violator the state of Colorado doesn’t have the good sense to lock up forever
Moral apex: Gosh, there are so many incidents, we’re spoiled for choice. You pick:
2003: Kim is arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in 1993; the now-adult victim finally reports the crime ten years after the fact, when she starts working with youth at the church who reveal experiences similar to her own.
2004: Kim pleads guilty to third-degree sexual assault, a misdemeanor, and is sentenced to two years’ probation.
2006: Kim is arrested again, this time charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. The sexual “relationship” he’s accused of consists of having sex with with a 15-year-old female parishioner in cars parked in public lots, in 2001 and 2002.
2007: A jury deadlocks, resulting in a mistrial.
One week later, Kim is arrested again as he leaves Flatirons Community Church in Longmont, for violating the terms of his bond by being around children other than his own three kids. Kim posts bond — for the third time — of $100,000, and is freed.
On at least one other occasion, he attends a sporting event at his kids’ school, which — duh! — puts him in close proximity to other people’s children.
(Are you getting the idea yet that this guy is stupid, or stubborn, or both?)
December, 2007: Kim violates bond again, by attending the holiday pageant at his kids’ school. This is his fourth bond violation in a year. This time, a disgusted judge slaps Kim wtih a one million-dollar bond.
March, 2008: In a plea deal, Kim finally cops to sexual exploitation of a child and attempted sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, and is sentenced to one year in prison and lifetime probation. He is also prohibited from having any contact with minors, including his own children.
October 19, 2009: Kim, now living in Denver, is arrested yet again, for violating the terms of his probation. As of this writing, details have not been made public — yet — but we’re sure they will be. Stay tuned.

Suggested Bible reading for Mr. Kim:
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.— 1 Samuel 15:23
