Marco Diaz (R-Scary, UT)

Marco DiazClaims to fame: President, Pantheon Construction Corporation, South Jordan, Utah; Republican Party leader/activist; member, National Republican Hispanic Assembly; anti-gay, anti-choice Mormon Teabagger who thinks God had something to do with writing the U.S. Constitution; father of three; divorcé who believes in “traditional marriage”; three-time accused stalker

Moral apex #1: Served on Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential steering committee. And if that’s not bad enough…

Moral apex #2: Arrested three times in two years on charges of stalking, most recently September 12, 2010.

He was pulled over for speeding, but was thrown in jail on an outstanding arrest warrant; in April, 2010, he allegedly contacted his ex-wife, Yvette Donosso, after he had been ordered not to. Before that, in 2009, Diaz was charged third-degree felony stalking for allegedly violating a restraining order taken out by Donosso.

Donosso, reported the Salt Lake Tribune, “had obtained the protective order … after alleging several instances of Diaz snooping through her bedroom, reviewing text messages on her phone and demanding the names and phone numbers of friends and boyfriends. In court documents, she also said Diaz was physically abusive and controlling.”

No shame: A week before his first arrest, Diaz stood with Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff to announce a new crime strike force against undocumented aliens.

Suggested Bible reading for Mr. Diaz:

For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

— Hebrews 6:7-8
