Early this morning (October 1, 2010), the Detroit News reported that the highly-combustible Andrew Shirvell, Michigan assistant attorney general and thoroughly obsessed stalker of the very cute, gay president of the University of Michigan student body, had been suspended from his job; now, reports the Free Press, Shirvell’s boss, AG Mike Cox (who’s been sporting a most becoming deer-in-the-headlights look as he straddles the line between doing the right thing by sacking the weasely little stalker and keeping his right-wing, anti-gay base happy) says no, no, no, he wasn’t suspended — he just took a leave of absence.
Yeah, whatever you want to call it, as long as he’s off the job.
On the other hand, how does Shirvell plan to spend his free time? (Chris Armstrong, we hope you get that restraining order, quick-smart — and stay out of dark alleys!)
In any case, when (if?) Shirvell returns to work, says Cox, he’ll face a disciplinary hearing.
Meanwhile, sometime overnight, Shirvell blocked public access to his infamous stalker blog, Chris Armstrong Watch.
Lot of good that will do, Andy — everybody’s already read it, screencapped it, saved it to disk, and quoted it all over the Web. And, for the moment, it’s still freely available through Google’s cache.
Talk about closing the barn door after the horse has escaped!
