Terry CarlsonArrested: Terry Carlson, 54, trustee, advisor, counselor, bus driver and Sunday school teacher at Kishwaukee Baptist Church, Rockford, Illinois, charged with one count of criminal sexual assault, 14 counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and six counts of indecent solicitation of a child after alledgedly having sex with a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old involved with his church. Jacob ConderCoonvicted: Jacob Conder, 24, former minister & youth director, Wing Avenue Baptist Church, Owensboro, Kentucky, & former Daviess County deputy constable, of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in his church (and in his church). Michael Alan CrippenArrested: Michael Alan Crippen, 51, pastor, First Baptist Church, Duenweg, Missouri, and charged with receiving child pornography over the Internet. “According to an affidavit filed in support of today’s criminal complaint, Crippen was identified during an investigation by the Dutch National Police into a Web site in The Netherlands that contained child pornography. Europol provided information to federal agents in the United States, who identified Crippen’s computer as one that downloaded child pornography in August 2009.” Story: KOAM, October 26, 2010

Mark HolmArrested: Mark Holm, 54, director, Young Life East Central Chapter, Cambridge, Minnesota, and K-12 substitute teacher, and charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old high school student. “Court documents allege Holm and the teen had been text messaging back and forth, often sending naked pictures of each other. The documents also allege the two had talked about running away together, getting married, even creating a suicide pact.” Story: KAAL, October 29, 2010

Shawn Anthony JusticeTrial begins: Shawn Anthony Justice, 32, former pastor, Corinthian Baptist Church, Fairbanks, Alaska, charged with twelve counts of felony second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. Justice, who has pleaded not guilty to all counts, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a girl in his church, beginning when she was 14. “Superior Court Judge Michael McConahy has ruled the jury … will also hear about Justice’s 2003 misdemeanor conviction in Virgina for contributing to the delinquencey [sic] of a minor. In that case, Justice, then 24 years-old [sic] and a choir director, had sex with a 15-year-old member of the choir.” Story: Daily News-Miner, April 22, 2010; November 5, 2010

Norman Henley KeeseeCharged: Norman Henley Keesee, 57, associate pastor & music minister, Emerald Baptist Church, Greenwood, South Carolina, with committing a lewd act on a child, specifically, “groping the breast of a 13-year-old girl” who “was filing paper for Keesee at the church.” The girl said this was the second time the pastor had groped her breast. Keesee has been placed on paid administrative leave and “is not allowed back on church property until the accusations are settled in court.” Story: WYFF, October 29, 2010

Timothy E. ParkerGuilty: Timothy E. Parker, 40, pastor, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Westgate, Iowa, to two counts of third-degree sexual abuse against a 12-year-old girl. Sentencing is scheduled for December 20, 2010; Parker “faces up to 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for the two class-C felonies.” Also: “Parker allegedly bypassed the Fayette County Jail’s mailing system, giving letters to a visiting pastor and friend, the Rev. Ronnie Koch of Fredericksburg. … Koch, 44, was charged with two counts of aiding and abetting a violation of an order of protection, a misdemeanor. Arrested: Cecilia Tembo, 55, Catholic nun, Matero Convent, Lusaka, Zambia, “for allegedly stealing K48 million of donor funds meant for the needs of the disabled people in Matero. … Sr Tembo allegedly failed to account for K48 million” [US$10,311].
