The gist: The former Republican Speaker of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives — who sexually molested his own stepdaughter and a friend of hers for some eight years from the time the girls were nine years old (and later molested another teen girl), landing him a 13-year prison sentence (on top of a six-year sentence he was already serving for corruption) — says he’s writing a book “to tell his version of corrupt offenses and lewd acts” that occur inside el Centro de Tratamiento de Humacao (the Humacao Treatment Center), where he is incarcerated.
When asked if he plans to get back into politics, Aldarondo hedged and said he’d answer all questions once he’s out of prison (roughly translated: “I will sit with you to answer the questions you must ask and clarify a number of embarrassing things about me, and all that [causes] you to write and say that”). Then he made a joke — which is, literally, lost in translation — about the number on his basketball jersey.
