The Brothers Scum: David & Daniel Ladeau Traded Kiddie Porn & Molestation Tips — Now Both Are Locked Up

Fifty-five year-old David Ladeau of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, former church choir director and organist (we’re pretty certain we know which church, but we don’t want to risk a mistake), had been sitting in jail, charged with possession of child pornography, since June of 2009 when he began exchanging letters with his 61-year-old brother Daniel Ladeau of Summertown, Tennessee… only this wasn’t the “How are you? I am fine” variety of correspondence. It was in code. The feds were called in, deciphered the messages, and discovered that the Ladeau brothers were exchanging tips on collecting child pornography over the Internet.

That was enough to send authorities to Daniel Ladeau’s home, where they found hundreds of explicit images of children on his computer. Daniel Ladeau was quickly arrested and turned over to the Secret Service. Investigators say he admitted to downloading child porn, as well as to having sexually molested numerous real-life boys in the past, all somewhere between 12 and 14 years old.

That was in August of last year. Since then, Daniel Ladeau has pleaded not guilty to possession of child porn — yet, by all accounts (such as this one), he penned one final letter to his brother that read: “I’m sure glad they’ll get me off the streets ‘cuz I know I’m a real danger to society…Now all the little kids will be safe. They got 2 monsters out of commission! Praise God!”

David Ladeau in turn “wrote his brother that he was in jail only because society is full of ‘hateful, unloving, unforgiving, uncompassionate bastards and bitches,’” according to Telegram.com, “who think that people with any sexual interest in children are monsters… He wrote ‘When I get out — I plan on looking for churches with … boys’ choirs’” and “Thank God I have desires, addictions that won’t go away. It’s a gift that pushes me, drives me to what seems to be, unreachable goals.”

Meanwhile — and this is what brings us to this bizarre story today — David Ladeau pleaded guilty and on January 5, 2011, was sentenced to ten years in prison.

But wait! There’s more! When David Ladeau was arrested in 2009 on the child-porn charges, he was already on probation for child molestation.

In a news release announcing his indictment, the U.S. Attorney’s Office noted that David Ladeau “recently had pled guilty in state court to two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child, two counts of showing obscene material to a minor, and one count of enticing a child under the age of sixteen.”

Guilty on five counts of child sexual abuse, and he gets probation? Makes you wonder what in the world the judge in the molestation case was thinking.

During the child-porn trial, David Ladeau’s attorney tried to tone down his client’s crimes by blaming “problems he had no control over, including sexual abuse at the hands of Daniel Ladeau from the time he was 10,” and, in fact, rampant sexual and other physical abuse throughout the entire family, and that David Ladeau “grew up the target of gay slurs by fellow students.”

Lest you feel any sympathy for this beast, we like what Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV had to say at sentencing. Again, per Telegram.com:

“While Mr. Ladeau did not have a choice about being gay or who his family was or being mentally ill or perhaps even having sexual attraction to minors, Judge Saylor said, he had choices over how he behaved.”

Amen.
