Because we could spend 24/7 tracking the sins of right-wing religionists (especially “youth pastors”) and never get caught up. Of the following, the more interesting cases will probably end up with their very own Conservative Babylon entries.

Jeffrey Lynn CrosleyCharged: Jeffrey Lynn Crosley, 35, former youth minister, Jesus Messiah Evangelical Free Church, Hanover, Pennsylvania, with multiple counts of sexual abuse allegedly committed against two teenage boys, including rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and statutory sexual assault. Since his arrest, police say he has “admitted to having sexual relationships with approximately 10 boys between the ages of 12 to 13.” Police also say Crosley’s home computer contained images of child pornography; additional charges are expected to be filed. A hearing is slated for February 9, 2011. Story: Evening Sun, February 4, 2011; WHTM, February 4, 2011; York Dispatch, February 5, 2011

Paul Otieno DeyaSentenced: Paul Otieno Deya, 32, nephew, adopted son and employee of fugitive Kenyan “Miracle Babies” televangelist Gilbert Juma Deya, to “a minimum” of 20 years in prison for the murder of his three-year-old son, Wilson. Just over a week ago, Gilbert Deya’s wife, Mary Deya, was sentenced to three years in prison for her second conviction of baby trafficking. Charged: Bruce Stutzman, 38 (or 40, depending on the source), former pastor, New Hope Alliance Church, Land O’ Lakes, Florida, with identity theft after allegedly opening a credit card in the name of a church elder and charging more than $17,000 to the account, and then stealing $3,400 from the church to pay off some of the debt. New Hope Alliance Church has since changed its name to Crosslife Church because, according to the alleged victim: “Our name is mud.” Story: TBO.com, February 4, 2011; ABC Action News, February 4, 2011

Drew A. UnderwoodArrested: Drew Underwood, 24, former youth minister, Mt.
