Pot is One Thing, But How is Mitch Daniels Going to Explain Away the LSD Charge?
“Youthful indiscretion,” perhaps? Not that the Repubs let Bill Clinton get away with smoking marijuana — ‘though Clinton was never arrested for it, and undercover cops never found any reason to visit young Bill’s dorm room “eight or nine times.”
Granted, Daniels has never hidden the arrest — but, as Ben Smith notes, “he has typically characterized it as a minor pot arrest, and typically doesn’t [mention] the initial acid charge.”
We have a feeling folks are going to care a lot more about all the dicey details if the current governor of Indiana is serious about running for the highest office in the land:

Daniels and the two other students were initially charged with possession of marijuana, LSD and prescription drugs without a prescription and with “maintaining a common nuisance by maintaining a place for the sale of narcotics.” …
Prosecutors later dropped the stiffer charges against Daniels, and he pled guilty to a disorderly person charge based on his use of marijuana, paying a $350 dollar fine. …
