Thomas Kinkade’s Wife to Mistress: Pay Up or Get Out
We never watched “Dallas” or “Dynasty” or any of those other ’80s prime-time soaps about the rich and undeserving, and the twists, turns and secrets of lives that only writers with a flair for the melodramatic could pull out of their imaginations — and now, with the ongoing Thomas Kinkade Wife-versus-Mistress catfight, we don’t even have to watch that clip of Joan Collins and Linda Evans brawling in a reflecting pool to get a taste of what we missed.
The latest: Kinkade’s widow, Nanette Kinkade, says her dead husband’s girlfriend, Amy Pinto-Walsh, is squatting in Kinkade’s house (where the ever-so-pious but wildly improper Painter of Hype dropped dead in April), and “holding hostage [the] residence.” Missus K is telling her to pay rent — $12,500 a month — or get out.
You’d think Nanette wouldn’t sell out the sanctity of her marital home… Nahhh, what are we saying? These are very, very rich people we’re talking about.
In any case, twelve and a half grand a month sounds outrageous, even for Monte Sereno — which would certainly be out of range for peons like us, but $12,500? The place better have solid gold bidets that spray champagne.
Anyway, we’ll see how this chapter in the Krystal v. Alexis saga turns out come September 17th, when a judge is scheduled to hear the lawyers argue it all out.
