Mom & Dad: William Muth Deserves Short Sentence for Child Rape, ‘Cause He’s a Good Christian Who Didn’t Do It (And, Anyway, His Supporters Can’t Be Wrong!)
It’s often difficult to decide who disgusts us more: child rapists, or the fools who defend them — “I refuse to believe it! He couldn’t have done it — he’s a good Christian!” which is sometimes, but seldom, followed much later by a begrudging “He made a mistake… and he’s paying for it” — or, more likely: “Who are you to judge? We’re all sinners!”
The good Christian you see at left is William Muth, 46, who was already in prison (in his last year of a three-year stint, and looking forward to parole in October) for possession of child pornography when he was sentenced today to another 40 years (36 years for sexual assault and another four for aggravated criminal sexual abuse) for sexually abusing a little girl — and we do mean little: just five years old.
His excuse? For the kiddie porn, “Muth maintained he didn’t know child pornography was in a large file of pornography he had downloaded, and that he had turned to viewing pornography while having marital problems after the death of a child,” according to the Daily Herald, and for the sexual abuse, why, the poor little girl just “mistook as abuse his cleaning of the child after the child soiled [her] clothes.”
Which begs the question: What was he doing “cleaning” a child who wasn’t his own?
In any case, as disgusted as we are by William Muth, we’re nearly as disgusted by his parents, whose testimony as character witnesses (this creep has “character”?) makes us wonder how deeply in denial these two are about a lot of things, and what they may have let him get away with as a child.
But it’s the way they (and Muth himself) play the Christian Card that disgusts us the most. Again from the Daily Herald:
Muth’s mother, testifying as a character witness, believes Muth is innocent of the charges. “Have mercy and give him the shortest amount [of] time possible.”
“Mercy”? Where was the “mercy” he showed that little girl when he was molesting her — not once, but repeatedly?
“This many people cannot be wrong,” Rose Callahan said.
Right, because they throw just any ol’ body on a jury, and the jurors flip a coin to decide the defendant’s fate. And prosecutors just make up stuff about random citizens (especially good Christians) just for fun. Or maybe everybody, from the judge to the victim, is possessed by an evil spirit making them all persecute your pure-as-the-driven-snow Sonny Bill.
His father, Stephen, testified Muth is a Christian who was a deacon and sang in the choir at a church.
And that means… what, exactly? John Wayne Gacy sang in the church choir, too (wanna see that jarring image on video?). Dude, spend some time reading ConBab, particularly the Black Collar Crime Round-Ups, and then come back and tell us how much of a defense being a church deacon is — or a Christian at all, for that matter.
William Muth said he has been helping cellmates in jail and prison, as he explains to them how they can start a business when they get out, such as he did selling nutritional supplements online.
Selling nutritional supplements online? Is Muth certain he’s not really a Mormon?
He said upon leaving prison, he would like to work with the Department of Corrections to develop a video program about business for inmates.
That makes sense; by the time he’s been in the clink for more than 30 years, he’ll have developed a downline network to beat the band!
“God has placed a burden on my heart to reach out to them spiritually,” William Muth said.
And sucking them into a multi-level marketing pyramid will help them spiritually… how? Billy, are you sure you’re not a Mormon?
In any case, doesn’t it just warm your heart, the way so many sick, lost perverts undergo a miraculous transformation after they find Jesus in prison and then— oh, wait, he found Jesus long before prison, didn’t he?
Five relatives and his pastor filed letters on his behalf.
If Muth had been acquitted, would those folks have wanted him to babysit their kids? Guess we’ll never find out. Well, since Muth will probably be paroled in 32 years, maybe they’ll be willing to let him babysit their grandchildren.
