No Wonder Jimmie “J.J.” Walker’s Never Been Married: Hates Kids, Wants to Send Divorced Women to Iraq, Likes Hookers (Yet “Morally” Against Gay Marriage)

Jimmie 'J.J.' Walker
If you think “J.J.” already looked rode hard and put up wet in his mid-20s, wait ’til you see how bad he looks at 65.

“I also believe that in a hundred years from now, because they are the squeaky wheel, gay marriage will be legal, and a hundred years from now, people gonna be saying, ‘‘Who was against gay marriage? What idiot was that?’ Well, I’m that idiot!”

— Jimmie “J.J.” Walker

The best thing we can say about Jimmie Walker — the washed-up, has-been, one-trick pony whose greatest claim to fame was mugging like a moron on the cringe-making “Good Times” — is that at least he admits he is indeed “that idiot.”

First, he makes his irrational bigotry known on CNN, citing “traditions” in which he himself has never participated (unless he counts the oldest profession in the world as one of those “certain traditions that need to be upheld”):

CNN: You’re also against gay marriage.

Walker: Yeah I am. There’s just certain traditions that need to be upheld. I’ll give you the other side of it, no it doesn’t affect me, no it doesn’t change my life. There’s just traditions that need to be dealt with. I’m a believer that gay marriage should be passed because the battle is not worth the war. The gay lobby is very loud. I’m totally against it.

In 100 years from now, people are going to go, ‘Who was against gay marriage?’ And I’ll be one of those idiots and say, ‘That’s me.’ I’m just against it on moral grounds, that’s it. I’m as much a heathen as anybody. I just don’t believe on moral grounds it should be done. I don’t like it, I don’t accept it.

Then the same idiot (his word, remember) justifies his anti-gay bigotry with the standard talking points about “values” to Cenk Uygur:

So, what are these high, holy “morals” that give Jimmie Walker the authority to slam marriage equality? Our first guess is that he’s such a loser in love, he’s developed a deep-seated hatred for women, so he doesn’t want to see those darned queers happy, either.

Or maybe there are other issues that make Walker so shockingly misogynistic and homophobic (two ugly traits that are inextricably entwined). We couldn’t possibly know…

“He says rather than send troops to Iraq… we should send divorced women with children… they’re the angriest… meanest segment… of American society…”

[...]

“Dating at this stage of his life involves women who have children… since Walker isn’t fan of children it makes it tough…Women of his age bracket have been divorced at least once or twice… and those woman are very angry…speaking about the hate they have for ex-husbands all the time… and he doesn’t wanna hear about how great their kids are, over and over again… Walker thinks his dating days may be over because he’s not that outgoing… He loves treating women well…flying them around the country and being respectful to them… but most women dislike that… they would rather complain to their girlfriends about how badly they have been treated… It’s very hard to be nice to most women… whether you let them stay at your house or loan them money you’ll always get it in the end…

[...]

“He prefers to date hassle-free women, which he jokingly says, there aren’t any of those left.

[...]

“Walker claims he only dated three ‘Bad’ women in his dating career of over forty years… Women who have tried to take court action… commit physical harm… destroy his property… stolen money… jewerly… clothing … stalked him… and of course accused him of everything from starting the Viet Nam war to being one of the 9-11 hi jackers [sic]… etc. etc. But, Walker says these women were viruses and caught him when his immune system was down… and these women were probably on their way to work as ladies of the evening… at the Mustang Ranch when he met them…”

I thought that he was dating Ann Coulter? That could account for some of his twisted anger and bitterness.
