From the Associated Press:
Former Colo. Governor And Wife To Get DivorcedFormer Gov. Bill Owens and Frances Owens are getting a divorce after more than 30 years of marriage and nearly three years after the couple reconciled after a separation.
A statement released to Denver newspapers Wednesday called the decision “private and mutual” and said the couple will remain friends.
. . .
The couple separated for 20 months beginning in 2003, with then Governor Owens moving out of their Centennial home and into the Governor’s Mansion. They reconciled in May 2005.
Neither has publicly stated why they separated.

Owens, a Republican who left office in January 2007 after serving two terms, is a vice chairman for Greenwich, Conn.-based RBS Greenwich Capital, which is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland. His role is global banking and markets as well as public-private infrastructure finance.
