Youth Pastor Brent Girouex “Helped” Teenage Boys “Gain Sexual Purity” By Having Sex with Them

Brent GirouexOut on bond: Brent Girouex, 31, former elder & youth pastor, Victory Fellowship Church (associated with Rick Joyner’s radically theocratic — and, of course, thoroughly homophobic — Morningstar Ministries, whose poster girl is Sarah Palin), Council Bluffs, Iowa, on $30,000 after turning himself in to police last month to confess to sexual contact with four males at his church. Since he was originally charged with 60 counts of “sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist,” another eight alleged victims have come forward. At least one alleged victim was just 14 when the abuse — which Girouex calls “mutual” — began, with the incidents of sex acts numbering anywhere between 25 and 100 times over the course of four years. Girouex, who is married with children, reportedly said he “helped” teenagers “gain sexual purity” and overcome “homosexual urges by praying while [Girouex] had sexual contact with [the boys].” According to the Daily Nonpareil, Girouex explained to police: “When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind.” Story: KETV, March 14, 2011; Daily Nonpareil, March 17, 2011
