Arrested: Ashley Jean Campbell, 27, former kindergarten teacher, Montrose Christian School, Rockville, Maryland, and charged with two counts each of sexual abuse of a minor and committing a fourth-degree sex offense against a 16-year-old male student. The alleged sexual relationship between teacher and student ended in January, 2012, more than a year after it began. Police say the school was tipped off by an anonymous email in February. Charged: Derick Irish, 39, Baptist Archbishop and “spirit healer,” Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago, “with demanding money by menace” — more than $300,000 — “and obtaining money under false pretences,” after a doctor refused to pay him any more money for “spiritual services,” for which she had already forked over some $212,000. Trinidad and Tobago news services report: “Officers said the payments were for spiritual services provided to the doctor after the spiritual healer told the doctors that someone had done bad things to her spiritually and she had one week to live. 
Charged: Daniel Montague “Danny” Acker, Jr., 49, former youth pastor, Westwood Baptist Church, Alabaster, Alabama; former elementary- and middle-school teacher once named Teacher of the Year; and namesake son of 
Guilty: James Boudreau, 68, retired priest, former pastor or associate pastor at numerous Catholic churches in Ontario (including St. John the Baptist, Guelph; St. James, Oakville; Our Lady of the Assumption, Stoney Creek; St. Gabriel, Burlington; St. John’s, Kitchener; and Canadian Martyrs, Hamilton) of two charges of sexual assault committed against two boys during the 1980s. Arrested: Mark Stewart Bullock, 47, Roman Catholic priest, and removed from his post at Church of the Immaculate Conception, Towson, Maryland, after being charged with indecent exposure when he was reportedly discovered completely naked from the waist down in a movie theatre inside an adult bookstore. A hearing is slated for March 6th. Story: 
Sentenced: Tedd Butler, 46, former pastor, Gospel Light Baptist Church, Walker, Michigan, to one year in jail, to run concurrently with the one-year sentence he is already serving, for two different cases involving the sexual abuse of small boys. In the first, when Butler was a 19-year-old youth minister at the now-closed Landmark Baptist Church, Algoma Township, Michigan, he “admitted to sexually molesting a boy 50 to 60 times between January 1984 and the end of 1992,” when the boy was between three and nine years old. In the second, more recent case, he touched a five-year-old boy inappropriately in his own home. Story: 
Request to rule evidence inadmissable: Dennis Brown, 67, pastor, Ivester Church of the Brethren, Eldora, Iowa, charged with third-degree sexual abuse committed against a 15-year-old girl he met online. Brown claims the search warrant for his home “was not supported by information sufficient to constitute probable cause” as no sexual activity took place there. A hearing is slated for February 6, 2012. Story: 
Arrested and charged: Rick Bartlett, 55, pastor, Bastrop Christian Church, Bastrop County, Texas, with animal cruelty after allegedly killing a family cat by throwing him off a 50-foot bridge. Bartlett, known for trapping feral cats, reportedly captured the 12-year-old tabby, Moody — who wore identification tags — then threw the cat in a cage on the back of his truck and “forgot” about him for three days. Then, Bartlett claims, he found Moody missing.

Bail denied: Stephen Douglas Berry, 38, former associate pastor, New Life Baptist Church, Union County, South Carolina, who has been charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct — specifically, sexual intercourse — with a 15-year-old girl between May and November, 2010. Per WSPA: “According to the church and the Union County Sheriff’s Office, Berry was the subject of a prior criminal investigation involving sexual misconduct allegations from an adult female. Sheriff David Taylor said the woman decided not to pursue charges, so the investigation was closed.” Nevertheless, a 
Not guilty plea: Sean Feltman, 24, former youth pastor, Willamette Community Church, Albany, Oregon, to the charge of attempting to “lure” a 14-year-old girl who belonged to the church youth group led by Feltman. Per KPTV, “Police say they began to investigate Feltman on Jan. 9, when the parents of a 14-year-old girl who attends the church youth group reported their daughter received sexually explicit text messages and online messages from the man. The church says Feltman resigned one week later. Officers arrested Feltman [March 4, 2011].” Story: 
We thought the case of Dwight Bullock, former youth pastor at Moore Chapel CME (Christian Methodist Episcopal), Jasper, Texas, was all wrapped up when he was 
Charged: Anthony Dale Newton, a.k.a. Tony Newton, 51, former pastor, H2O Church, Lexington, Tennessee, with aggravated statutory rape and sexual battery by an authority figure after reportedly having a 16-year-old girl give him oral sex during a New Year’s Eve church “lock-in” (an overnight — or longer — slumber party that literally involves “locking in” youth at the church for the duration of the festivities). Police say Newton (who is free on bond pending his next hearing) has admitted to the crime. 
Confessed: Robert L. Stoner, 38, youth minister, Miracle Temple Holy Church, Wilmington, Delaware, to having sex with a 15-year-old female member of his church, “several times in his home ‘in the living room on the couch while his son was asleep,’” according to police. Stoner faces six counts of third-degree rape. Story: 
Charged: Edward Fairley, 59, pastor, Koinonia and Christian Ministries, Paterson, New Jersey, with the attempted murder of associate pastor Simone Shields, 52, with whom, police say, the married Fairley was “in a relationship.” NewJersey.com reports that “authorities and a witness say, the Rev. Edward Fairley stormed into an Eastside home and, without a word, stabbed the Rev. Simone Shields several times in the face and torso, leaving her to lie in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor.” Police found a strangely calm Fairley “staggering through the streets soaked in blood and carrying a knife.” In 1983, Fairley broke into his estranged wife’s home and stabbed her, for which he served six years in prison. Sentenced: Lucy Adeniji Williams, 44, Nigerian-born pastor of “TLCCMINISTRIES (Where the Lord Cares),” London, U.K., to 11-1/2 years in prison after her conviction on 17 charges related to smuggling two African children and one 21-year-old woman into the U.K. to use them as domestic slaves in her East London home. “An illegal immigrant herself,” reports the BBC, Adeniji “had told the victims’ parents they would have a better life in the UK, but instead viciously beat them if they failed to please her.”

Charged: Marc L. Neal, 48, senior pastor, Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Akron, Ohio; Dominion Family Worship Center, Atlanta, Georgia; presiding prelate, Come Alive Ministry International Fellowship; with felony assault, kidnapping and abduction after a repo man tried to repossess his Lexus. Neal reportedly hit the gas and peeled out with Ken Falzini clinging to the hood of the car, hitting speeds up of to 60mph as he raced through the streets, zig-zagging widly as he tried to throw the repo man to the ground — and reportedly laughing when he threatened to take Falzini out on the interstate. In Neal’s defense, his attorney said it was “disrespectful” to try to repossess Neal’s car at the church on a Sunday morning. (Falzini said he had no other address for Neal.) Neal has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Story:
