Brian Blundell (R-Maui)

Claims to fame: Former Hawaii state representative (West Maui-North Kihei); Republican; closet case; cop-crotch groper

Moral apex: In July, 2004, approached “a plainclothes police officer outside a Kapiolani Park restroom and groped his crotch.”

Arrested on a charge of fourth-degree sexual assault, Blundell, 63, pleaded no contest, and was able to get a deferred conviction on a misdemeanor sex assault charge — meaning, if he could be a good boy for a whole year, the conviction would be expunged from his record. He was, and it was.

Divine justice: Voters weren’t so forgiving as the judge in the case; he lost his 2004 re-election bid.

Suggested Bible reading for Mr. Blundell:

O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.

— Psalm 69:5
