Gerry Heck, Who Lost Republican Primary to Ted Klaudt, Indicted for Child Sexual Abuse
One of two candidates who lost the 2006 Republican primary for South Dakota state house to convicted child rapist Ted Klaudt (now serving 54 years for raping two of his former foster daughters), one Gerry Heck (Gerhardt J. Heck), 61 — superintendent, Northwest Area Schools Educational Cooperative; wheat farmer; contact person for a Christian retreat center (Moreau River Sanctuary); and member of the board of directors of AgAmerica, FCB, bank since 2001 — has been indicted on federal charges of sexually abusing a girl on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, during the 1990s.
