It sounds to us like Susan Brock has something (besides the obvious) in common with another child molester in the news recently: Their shared church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is spinning like mad regarding what church officials knew about Brock’s ongoing sexual abuse of a 13-year-old boy, and the story they’re spinning makes us wonder about… a lot of things. Tsk! It’s not that we don’t kinda, sorta feel sorry for the guy, but we have to wonder where Good Mormon Priest Fulton went wrong in leading his Eternal Family into the Celestial Kingdom:

And we thought Christine Shreeve Hubbs was going to be our Mormon Mommy of the Year. (We also thought nothing could shock us anymore. Silly us.)
Quick recap, and then onto the latest and most stunning turns in the Susan Brock Saga: On October 26, 2010, 48-year-old Susan Brock, wife of hardcore right-wing Republican — and devout Mormon — Maricopa County, Arizona, supervisor Fulton Brock, was arrested and accused of having sex some 20 to 30 times over a three-year period with a teenage boy (the son of a family friend), beginning when the boy was 14.
In mid-November, Fulton Brock filed for divorce.
A few days after that, Susan Brock pleaded not guilty to 15 charges of child molestation.
Now for the two-part jaw-dropper, beginning with the arrest of Rachel Brock, Susan Brock’s 21-year-old daughter, for “sexual conduct” with the same boy her mother is accused of molesting. (more…)

No big surprise — how else would she plead? Still, guess hubby Fulton Brock isn’t buying it, since he’s divorcing her.
Next court appearance: December 27, 2010, for an initial pretrial conference.

Looks like Fulton Brock does indeed believe the allegations are true — he’s divorcing his wife, Susan Brock, “charged with 15 sex-abuse counts over an alleged three-year series of sexual encounters with a boy.” Read the full (if short) story at the Arizona Republic.
No big surprise, this — but we do wonder if the devout and oh-so-”traditional” Mormon Mister will also petition for an official un-”sealing” by the LDS church, or if he’ll keep his “eternal marriage” to his wayward Missus for extra points toward polygamous righteousness in the “Celestial Kingdom”?
