Since 2004, Florida homebuilder Timothy F. Mobley has contributed steadily (often the maximum allowed) to fellow Conservative Babylonian Vern Buchanan (who just made his fourth appearance on the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington [CREW] list of “12 Most Corrupt Members of Congress”), as well to the likes of George Voinovich and Mel Martinez. Between 2008 and 2009, Mobley dropped $5,500 on the National Republican Congressional Committee, and a hefty $10,000 on the Republican Party of Florida. (more…)

CREW Names the 12 Most Corrupt Members of Congress; Eight More Earn Dishonorable MentionsWASHINGTON – September 12, 2012 – Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) released its annual Most Corrupt Members of Congress report, which takes a bipartisan look at Washington’s worst. Members on this year’s list engaged in misconduct ranging from misusing congressional staff to orchestrating and accepting illegal campaign contributions, and even using campaign donations for personal expenses. In this year’s report, 12 members were named to the list, while eight more garnered dishonorable mentions. Additionally, 11 of the 20 members are making their first appearance in CREW’s Most Corrupt report.

The short version, via TPMMuckraker: “Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) failed to disclose income on his disclosure forms and didn’t report 17 positions he held at various companies and organizations from 2007 through 2010, according to an Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) report released Monday.”
